About Tamla
Tamla (aka Tammy or Tam) was a beautiful soul, both inside and out.
Tam was spirited and joyful. She loved life, dancing, and spending time with her family and friends. Tam made sure that everyone felt welcomed. Her home was the place where family and friends gathered, both on all special occasions and just because.
Tam was a loving, supportive, and present mom to five boys and to her step-daughter, who she raised from a young age. She was the kind of mom that would always be found cheering her boys on with a big sign and a megaphone at their various sports games. She was her daughter's best friend and talked with her every day. Tam loved her children beyond words. She made her house a home and took care of the people in it. Tam took great pride in being an amazing mom, wife, sister, daughter, friend and so much more. She was loved deeply by so many people.
Tam was inclusive and accepting, she believed in spreading love, not hate. She was firm in her beliefs of fairness and equality and would not hesitate to make them known. She was proud of her ancestry. She was loyal. She loved fiercely. She selflessly helped people in need and even welcomed people into her home who were struggling to get back on their feet. Tam believed in sharing her love, compassion and support.
Tam’s children and family are devastated and heartbroken over her loss. We want answers. We want the truth. We want justice. We will not rest until justice is served. We deserve to know what happened to our beloved Tam, Tammy, mom, sister, daughter, wife and loved one. #JusticeforTam #BlackLivesMatter #SayHerName
